Accessibility statement
Last updated 08.10.2026. This statement covers the website graidable.com and the app for teachers.
1. Status
Graidable should be usable by every teacher, and we work to WCAG 2.1 at level AA. The service is partially compliant with the requirements. We have not tested it systematically against every success criterion, and no outside party has reviewed it. This statement is based on our own review on 08.10.2026.
2. What is in place
- Forms have labels, and icon-only buttons have text for screen readers.
- Keyboard focus is visible, and dialogs and menus work with a keyboard.
- The app has a light and a dark theme and can be zoomed in the browser.
- The grading workspace has keyboard shortcuts, with an overview in the app.
- Pages state their language, and the feedback PDFs have a title and a language set.
- Several animations are reduced for users who have asked for reduced motion.
3. What we know is not accessible
- The feedback PDFs are not tagged for screen readers. They lack the structure (headings, lists and reading order) that assistive technology uses. A student can ask the teacher for the feedback in another format.
- Scanned answers are shown as images. The text Graidable has read from them is shown in the app, but it can contain reading errors, especially in handwriting, formulas and figures.
- Drawing a box around an answer on a page needs a mouse or a trackpad.
- There is no link to skip straight to the main content.
- The app has not been tested with a screen reader, and colour contrast has not been measured on every page.
We fix these as we go and update this statement when something changes.
4. Report a barrier
If something does not work for you, or you need content in another format, write to [email protected]. We answer within five working days.
5. Enforcement
In Norway, the Authority for Universal Design of ICT (Uutilsynet) supervises the accessibility requirements for websites and apps. You can read about the requirements and contact the authority at uutilsynet.no.
